Carolina Irving designed the Anna with her daughters Olympia and Ariadne, lifting the motif from an antique Greek dish — olive branches in white over a deep cobalt — and paring it back to a simpler hand. Each cup is hand-painted in Portugal, in small ateliers, in small batches.
The blue is the kind of blue you stop at — saturated, slightly uneven where the glaze pools, no two cups exactly the same. They’re the actual size for actual espresso (6 cm, none of the oversized American “espresso mug” pretending). Works against marble, wood, a concrete island, a plain white linen.
At $66 for the set of four, this is the rare List No. 5 entry where the price-to-craft math swings the other way — handmade, hand-painted, dishwasher safe, under seventeen dollars a cup. Most likely will sell out soon.
