We have a weakness for anything made by a single pair of hands, and this pendant is exactly that — thrown and carved in a small New York studio, speckled stoneware with rows of pressed marks running around the body like stitching. No two come out quite the same, which is rather the whole appeal.
The brass fitting and twisted cord keep it warm rather than precious; the ceramic glows softly when lit and reads as a quiet sculptural thing when it doesn’t. Six inches across, eight tall — small enough to hang in twos or threes without crowding a ceiling.
We’d put it over a kitchen island, beside a bed, or down a narrow hall where a plain fixture would do nothing at all. It earns the second look.
