McGee & Co. is the home brand Shea McGee built out of Studio McGee — the California-via-Utah aesthetic that defined the last decade of organic modern interiors. The Haviland is one of their smaller upholstered pieces: a 16-inch round drum ottoman with an aluminum frame, and a fabric that does the real work.
The fabric is the trick. Perennials — the Texas mill that’s basically the gold standard in outdoor performance textiles — handles toddlers, dogs, sunlight, and red wine without flinching. Haviland is sold as outdoor furniture, but spends most of its life indoors: at the foot of a sofa, pulled up as extra seating, or as a footrest in a sun-filled corner.
$548 for an ottoman this small isn’t trivial, but the Perennials fabric is the line item you’re paying for — bleach-cleanable, fade-resistant, mildew-proof. Aluminum frame keeps the weight low. Stripe and solids available; we’d take the stripe.
