Gingham on a bed is one of those things that shouldn’t work as well as it does. It reads a little rustic, a little nursery — and then you see it in olive instead of the usual red or blue, and suddenly it’s grown up and quiet and very hard to argue with.
It’s woven from 100% European linen, yarn-dyed so the check runs right through the cloth rather than sitting printed on top — which is why it only softens and deepens with every wash. OEKO-TEX certified, breathable in summer, insulating enough through winter. The fitted sheet takes a mattress up to 16 inches deep, with elastic all the way around.
We think of it as the lazy person’s beautifully made bed. Pull it taut, or leave it rumpled with a heavy quilt thrown over the foot — either way it looks like you tried, when you really didn’t.
